Where is the best place to find garage doors for sale in LA. i searched google, ask.com, homedepot, lowes, and craigslist. but i cant find anything. if u can provide links please do so. im looking for one that is 8 feet wid by 7 feet high. I want to self install.

The Home Depot is having a great special on a Chamberlain Screwdriver garage door openers. Is this a good brand? Is it had to install? I'm pretty handy and like to DIY. There are actually two I am looking at. I bought a new garage door opener from a major retailer and also purchased their installation service for it. I got a call from the installation people to schedule a date and time, and they left a message on my answering machine. Apparently it is some sort of pool table sales and service company. lol Their name is something... something... "Billiards," or whatever. So my question is: What the heck sort of pool table store installs garage door openers? And would you go ahead and allow them to do the installation or would you try and request somebody else to do it?

What was the most you ever made? were there a lotta early birds bangin on ur door? did they ever try to haggle w/u to try and basically get the old item for almost free? how do you deal w./extreme cheapo's when u already priced ur item for a cheap price anyway? and was ur tag sale for the whole weekend?

My sister used the roller tract of an old style chain driven Genie Garage Door Opener as a coat hanger during a garage sale. She forgot to remove the hangers before closing the door. She removed the coat hangers after the door would not close and then the door closed. The next time the closer/opener was activated to open the door, it worked. When we went to close the door the next time, it would only close about 1/3 of the way before hanging up. I discovered one of the rollers had come out of the tract on the side where the coat hangers were hung. I was able to place the roller back in but now the door opener/closer has trouble opening and closing the door without assistance. The last 1/3 going up and the first 1/3 going down is not a problem. The other 2/3 up and down needs assistance. The tracts look ok. The rollers look ok. I lubricated the door hinges and the roller shafts but the problem remains. The track does not appear to be misaligned. Any ideas would be welcome. Would a very slight misalignment that I don't see cause this? This is an old style opener (before 1995) and we have made an investment of 5 additional remotes for this garage door opener/closer for various family members to use. If we can fix the problem without a lot of expense, we would like to try and fix it rather than buying new. We do not plan on having the home much longer. Again, we welcome your suggestions and thank you in advance for any advise you offer.

My buddy's girlfriend is a real estate agent and has a phone that uses the infared to unlock Lock Boxes that store the keys for homes for sale. Is there a all in one device, equipment I could set up, and/or software I could load onto my BlackBerry to do these other things - Lock/Unlock car door, start ignition, open garage door, arm/disarm home alarm, etc. I want to consolidate remotes and devices. Any suggestions? Actually, I'd like to get rid of my wallet all together too. Maybe futuristic thinking- use the same device to have encrypted driver's license, credit cards/debit cards, insurance cards, membership cards; just swipe the device over a reader and select card to use on a touch screen??????
